[RELEASE] Related Posts Slider – Free WordPress Plugin

Related Posts are essential for making your blog more engaging and SEO friendly. You used thumbnails and links in list for related posts, but now you can try Image – Content slider with preview panel. How about having a slider box below the post content on your WordPress blog to let the user browse related contents on that page itself by just clicking on the link lists in left panel with preview in right panel on same location without loading the page. Preview content shows the content excerpt and image thumbnail, and to read the full article, user will have to click on “read more” link button to continue reading the post.

After the success of Smooth Slider, we are pleased to announce the release of a preview slider WordPress plugin named “Related Posts Slider“. It is the first of its kind plugin for showing related posts with such effects. You are going to get all SEO benefits of using related posts as we have not changed the logic of getting related posts. Currently this plugin is only compatible with “Yet Another Related Posts” plugin which is available on WordPress Plugin Directory for free. You need to install YARP first and then install and activate “Related Posts Slider” (RPS) plugin. We will try to make RPS compatible with more related posts plugin in future releases.

Benefits and features of RPS is mentioned on the official page of this plugin. You can also use Shortcode and Widget to place the slider at convenient location of your choice on the theme template. Full CSS customization is available for this plugin, so you can customize the look and feel of the slider as per your theme template as well wither from the plugin settings panel or by uploading a fresh new CSS file.

Thanks to Codrops for the excellent jQuery tutorial and design. Try Related Posts Slider plugin on your WordPress blog and let us know your feedback about the same. You can see the plugin in action just below this post and all other posts on Internet Techies.

  • Great plugin Indeed, Kudos, I will be writing about it on my blog soon (and installing it too)

  • One of best styling plugins out there ! Awesome work ! One options i’m mising here is support for timthumb.php. You want to include that in next version and enable option for that in optionshttp://www.clickonf5.org/images part. This is must-do ! Or, maybe make your own script that will resize and zoom images. Those automaticly generated imates looks ugly without proper resolution.
I mean, if you show 800×600 img in 250×100, that looks really ugly, but if you show it with timthumb.php with zoom enabled, than that’s something better.

And again, thumbs up for this plugin !

  • Thanks buddy, we will wait for the plugin review on Shankerbakshi.com

Hi. I love so much “You might like”: the way you put posts content and excerpt with manual sliding with arrows after your post. How to do it? Thanx 😉
